Concurrent oversight of a management company and four privately and publically held operating companies. Responsibilities include accounting, information technology, financial and management reporting, tax compliance, mergers and acquisitions, ERP, Sarbanes – Oxley compliance (SOX), multi state payroll, human resources, 401k administrator, treasury management, and risk management. 

·      Partner with CEO and COO for all strategic planning of four operating companies in the food manufacturing industry
·      Rebuilt a disorganized accounting team into the recordkeeping and analytics core that has seen “no change” public audits for three audited companies the past three years
·      Implemented new technologies for commission tracking, financial reporting, management reporting, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and document imaging
·      Identified  a new plant at twenty percent of market value for increased growth capacity, proximity to raw materials source, and transportation logistics hub
·      Negotiated $17.7m in tax free Industrial Development Bonds (IDB) for new plant and existing plant addition with a fifteen year fixed rate of 4.6 percent
·      Contributed to the management team that consistently grew the top line by ten percent per year and the bottom line by twenty percent
·      Implemented SOX testing and monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and prepare quarterly certifications
·      Created and Implemented Microsoft Office SharePoint Services to build a financial, sales and operations reporting intranet
·      Work closely with my peers in operations and sales to break down the walls in departments and function as a unified team, sharing information and improving performance

2005-2007, Board Member of AETI (a public company)
Assisted in navigating through Sarbanes - Oxley, review quarterly SEC filings, member of the audit committee, and a reverse stock merger

·         Identified major flaws in CEO which ultimately led to replacement
·         Worked as part of a team that negotiated a reverse stock merger

2004-2006 CFO Consultant
Work with several clients including Shumate Mechanical, Quality Sheet Metal, Falcon Land Development, QuintEvents, CSX, and the NFL/Jacksonville Jaguars for Super Bowl XXXIX.

·      Implemented a $1m Microsoft ERP system for Shumate Mechanical, an Atlanta based HVAC company with 500+ employees
·      Assisted with acquisition of Quality Sheet Metal, oversaw the earn out calculation, and implemented accounting function and systems
·      Identified properties for 500+ unit apartment complexes for Falcon Land
·      Implemented record keeping systems for QuintEvents
·      Worked as a member of a team to implement and test CSX for SOX compliance
·      Maintained all transaction accounting for Super Bowl XXXIX, and worked with the team that generated $18m in profits over eighteen months to pay for the required improvements for the stadium.

2000-2004 CFO Balfour Beatty Rail
Responsible for the financial oversight of the US rail systems construction, engineering and maintenance divisions of a $5B publicly traded UK owned engineering and infrastructure contractor. Responsibilities included accounting, financial and management reporting, tax compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and ERP. 

·      Partnered with the CEO during tumultuous times
·      Re-engineered the accounting system to streamline processes and account structure reducing   department head count from twenty to ten people
·      Repaired the Job Cost system to create reporting to manage jobs
·      Created Cost-to-Complete forecasting for jobs that ranged from $1m to $55m
·      Oversaw “right sizing” process to bring people resources in line with earnings
·      Assisted CEO in reversing $5m annual loss to a $1m profit
·      Created a back office consolidation plan of sister companies, which included elimination of my position

1998-2000 Controller Burger King Franchisee
Responsibilities included complete accounting function and financial reporting for ten locations including tax compliance, payroll and human resources, risk management, and new site acquisition.

Built an accounting practice of small business and individuals in St Augustine, Florida.  Practice areas included accounting, tax, and business consulting.
